This week's selected article from LA School Report, highlights a homeless mother who took the initiative to get involved in her kids' school by serving as the school's English Learner Advisory Committee president for the past 3 years! She is standing up for kids like hers at the school, and she is working with a Parent Problem Solving Group to promote kids' needs such as afterschool tutoring and ramps for handicapped students. How can Project Literacy motivate our learners' parents to get involved at their schools, and how can we as an organization make the effort to connect organizations like ours with schools that need our help?
