This past week, an article was posted on laschoolreport.com that discusses the increased budget for California schools proposed by Governor Jerry Brown. While the budget proposal would increase per student spending from $10,000 to $16,000, that change will still leave California ranked 41st in the US for per student spending. Additionally, LAUSD's projected deficit for 2021 is a whopping $245 million, which underlies the importance of our work as tutors in the LA community. How can we best equip our learners to excel in an environment with such tight budget constraints?
